Ingredients

  • 12 large fresh jalapeños, halved lengthwise and seeded
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup cooked bacon, crumbled
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Method

  1. Slice each jalapeño lengthwise, removing seeds and white membrane with a small spoon. The more seeds you leave, the spicier your poppers will be. Wear gloves or wash hands thoroughly afterward.
  2. Combine softened cream cheese, cheddar, crumbled bacon, garlic powder, and onion powder in a medium bowl. Mix until smooth and well blended.
  3. In a separate shallow bowl, mix panko breadcrumbs with Parmesan cheese and a pinch of salt. Drizzle olive oil over the mixture and toss until evenly coated.
  4. Fill each jalapeño half generously with cheese mixture, mounding it slightly. Press the filled peppers into the breadcrumb mixture, coating the cheese filling completely.
  5. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F. Place stuffed peppers in the basket, leaving space between each piece for proper air circulation. Cook for 8-10 minutes until golden brown and bubbling.

Notes

Prep the jalapeños and cheese mixture the night before and store covered in refrigerator. Wear gloves when handling jalapeños. Don't overcrowd air fryer basket. Store leftovers in refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in air fryer at 350°F for 2-3 minutes to restore crispiness. Can be frozen - cook directly from frozen adding 2-3 extra minutes.
