Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons buttermilk
  • 1 packet ranch seasoning mix
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons fresh chives, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped

Method

  1. Whisk together mayonnaise, sour cream, and buttermilk in a medium bowl until completely smooth. The mixture should look creamy white without any lumps.
  2. Sprinkle in the ranch seasoning packet, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Whisk vigorously for 30 seconds until all seasonings are fully incorporated.
  3. Squeeze in fresh lemon juice and whisk again to brighten the entire dressing and cut through the richness.
  4. Gently fold in chopped chives and dill using a spoon rather than whisking to preserve the herb pieces and create green flecks.
  5. Cover and refrigerate for at least 15 minutes before serving to allow flavors to meld together and dressing to thicken slightly.

Notes

Perfect for meal prep - make a double batch and store in mason jars. Let rest for at least 15 minutes for proper flavor development. Don't over-whisk after adding herbs to avoid bruising them. Store in refrigerator for up to one week in airtight container. May separate slightly - whisk before using. Not recommended for freezing.
