Ingredients
Method
- Whisk together olive oil, soy sauce, lime juice, minced garlic, cumin, chili powder, pepper, and salt in a shallow dish.
- Place the flank steak in the marinade, turning to coat both sides completely. Marinate for at least 10 minutes.
- Heat your grill to medium-high heat, around 400-450°F. Clean the grates thoroughly and oil them lightly.
- Remove the steak from marinade and grill for 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, or until it reaches 130°F internal temperature.
- Let the grilled flank steak rest for 5 minutes before slicing. Slice thinly against the grain at a 45-degree angle.
Notes
Marinate the steak in the morning for even more flavor. Always slice against the grain at a 45-degree angle for maximum tenderness. Don't skip the 5-minute resting period. Store leftovers in refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for 3 months. Can be cooked indoors using a cast-iron skillet or grill pan.
