Ingredients

  • 4 large ripe peaches, halved and pitted
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 pinch salt
  • vanilla ice cream for serving (optional)

Method

  1. Choose peaches that yield slightly to gentle pressure but aren't overly soft. Cut them in half and remove the pits, keeping the skin on for easier grilling.
  2. Whisk together honey, melted butter, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt in a small bowl to create the glaze.
  3. Heat your grill to medium heat, around 350°F. Clean the grates thoroughly and brush with oil to prevent sticking.
  4. Brush the cut side of each peach half generously with the honey glaze. Place cut-side down on the grill and cook for 4-5 minutes until grill marks appear and the fruit begins to caramelize.
  5. Turn the peaches carefully using tongs, brush with remaining glaze, and grill skin-side down for another 3-4 minutes until flesh is tender but not mushy.

Notes

Choose peaches that yield slightly to pressure but aren't overly soft. Don't use peaches that are too ripe as they'll fall apart. Cook over medium heat to prevent burning. Oil grates well to prevent sticking. Store leftovers in refrigerator for up to 3 days. Don't freeze due to high water content. Can be made on gas grill or stovetop grill pan.
