Ingredients

  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon whole grain mustard
  • 2 green onions, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, minced
  • 1 tablespoon capers, drained and chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Method

  1. In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, and whole grain mustard until smooth.
  2. Fold in the finely chopped green onions, minced parsley, and chopped capers.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic, lemon juice, hot sauce, paprika, and cayenne pepper.
  4. Season with salt and black pepper, then taste and adjust seasonings as needed.
  5. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow flavors to develop.

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week. Does not freeze well due to mayonnaise base. Allow at least 30 minutes chilling time for flavors to develop. Greek yogurt can replace half the mayonnaise for a lighter version. Sweet pickle relish makes a kid-friendly substitute for capers.
