Ingredients

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 packet ranch dressing mix
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup chopped green onions
  • 1/2 cup crumbled bacon
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh chives

Method

  1. Ensure cream cheese reaches room temperature. In a large mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, and sour cream. Beat with electric mixer until completely smooth and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  2. Sprinkle ranch dressing mix evenly over the creamy base. Mix thoroughly until seasoning distributes completely throughout the dip.
  3. Gently fold in three-quarters of the shredded cheddar cheese, reserving the rest for topping. Add chopped green onions and half of the crumbled bacon, saving some for garnish.
  4. Transfer Million Dollar Dip to a serving bowl and smooth the top with a spatula. Sprinkle remaining cheddar cheese, bacon crumbles, and fresh chives over the surface.
  5. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to allow flavors to meld together before serving.

Notes

Make sure cream cheese is at room temperature for smooth mixing. Chill for at least 2 hours for best flavor development - flavors actually improve overnight. Store in refrigerator for up to 4 days. Bring to room temperature for 15 minutes before serving leftovers. Can substitute Greek yogurt for sour cream, turkey bacon for regular bacon, or onion powder for fresh green onions as budget-friendly alternatives.
