Ingredients
Method
- Place your copper mug in the freezer for 10-15 minutes before making the drink. The cold copper keeps your Moscow Mule perfectly chilled and creates that satisfying frosty exterior.
- Fill your chilled copper mug with ice cubes, then pour in the vodka.
- Cut your lime in half and squeeze one half directly into the mug. Drop the squeezed lime half right into the drink for extra flavor.
- Slowly pour the ginger beer over the back of a spoon to preserve the carbonation and create gentle layering.
- Give everything a gentle stir with a copper spoon if you have one. Garnish with a lime wedge and a sprig of fresh mint.
Notes
Moscow Mules are best enjoyed immediately while the ginger beer maintains its fizz. You can pre-mix vodka and lime juice in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours, adding ginger beer just before serving. Chill your copper mug for 10-15 minutes before making for the best experience. Don't use ginger ale instead of ginger beer - it lacks the spicy kick. Pour ginger beer slowly to preserve carbonation. Use fresh lime juice when possible for better taste.
