Ingredients

  • 1 bottle white wine (750ml), such as Pinot Grigio or Sauvignon Blanc
  • 2 cups apple juice
  • 1/2 cup peach schnapps
  • 2 large Granny Smith apples, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups lemon-lime soda or ginger ale
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons honey or simple syrup
  • fresh mint sprigs for garnish
  • ice cubes

Method

  1. Wash and thinly slice your Granny Smith apples, leaving the skin on for beautiful color and extra nutrients. Drop the slices into a large pitcher immediately to prevent browning.
  2. Pour the white wine over the apple slices, followed by the apple juice and peach schnapps. Stir gently with a wooden spoon to combine all the flavors.
  3. Drizzle in the honey and fresh lemon juice. Taste and adjust sweetness as needed.
  4. Cover the pitcher and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, though overnight is even better for flavor infusion.
  5. Just before serving, add the lemon-lime soda slowly to preserve the carbonation. Fill glasses with ice, pour the sangria, and garnish with fresh mint sprigs and extra apple slices.

Notes

Store leftover sangria base (without soda) in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Add fresh soda when ready to serve again. Don't add soda too early as it will lose fizz. Chill for at least 2 hours, overnight is better for flavor infusion. Add soda slowly just before serving to preserve carbonation.
