Ingredients

  • 1 package Hawaiian sweet rolls (12 count)
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 4 oz pepperoni slices
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F. Using a sharp serrated knife, slice the entire package of Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally, keeping the top and bottom sections intact. Place the bottom half in a greased 9x13 baking dish.
  2. Spread pizza sauce evenly across the bottom rolls, reaching every corner. Sprinkle half the mozzarella cheese over the sauce, then layer pepperoni slices. Add remaining mozzarella and finish with Parmesan cheese.
  3. Gently place the top half of the rolls over the filling. In a small bowl, mix melted butter with Italian seasoning and garlic powder. Brush this mixture generously over the tops.
  4. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 10 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 5-7 minutes until the tops are golden brown and cheese is bubbling.
  5. Let the sliders rest for 3-4 minutes before cutting along the original roll lines.

Notes

Make ahead by assembling in the morning and baking when guests arrive. Store leftover sliders in refrigerator for up to 3 days in airtight container. Reheat in 300°F oven for 8-10 minutes. Can freeze assembled unbaked sliders up to 2 months - bake directly from frozen adding 5-8 extra minutes. Don't skip foil during initial baking and avoid over-saucing to prevent soggy bottoms. Let rest 3-4 minutes after baking before cutting.
