Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground turkey (93/7 lean works best)
  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 12 slider buns, split
  • 6 slices cheese (cheddar or American), halved
  • lettuce leaves, tomato slices, and pickles for topping
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil for cooking

Method

  1. In a large bowl, gently combine ground turkey, panko breadcrumbs, beaten egg, Worcestershire sauce, and all seasonings. Use clean hands to mix just until ingredients are evenly distributed. Don't overmix.
  2. Divide the mixture into 12 equal portions, roughly 2 tablespoons each. Roll each portion into a ball, then gently flatten into patties about 2 inches wide. Make a small indent in the center with your thumb.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. When the oil shimmers, carefully place patties in the pan, leaving space between each one. Cook for 4-5 minutes without moving them.
  4. Flip once and cook another 3-4 minutes until golden brown and cooked through. Top each slider with half a cheese slice during the last minute of cooking. Cover the pan briefly to help cheese melt.
  5. Lightly toast the slider buns in the same pan for extra flavor. Layer each bun with lettuce, the cooked turkey patty, tomato, and pickles.

Notes

Form patties in the morning and refrigerate for better shape retention. Don't press down on patties while cooking to keep juices. Make a thumb indent in center to prevent puffing. Store leftovers in refrigerator for up to 3 days. Can freeze cooked sliders for up to 3 months.
