Ingredients

  • 8 oz block feta cheese, room temperature
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons fresh dill, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • Red pepper flakes for garnish

Method

  1. Crumble the feta cheese into your food processor bowl. Add softened cream cheese and pulse a few times to break down the chunks.
  2. Drizzle in olive oil and fresh lemon juice while the processor runs. The mixture should start looking creamy and smooth.
  3. Add minced garlic, black pepper, and honey. Process until completely smooth, about 2-3 minutes. Stop occasionally to scrape down the sides.
  4. Fold in fresh dill by hand or pulse briefly. Over-mixing herbs turns them bitter and dark. Taste and adjust seasonings as needed.
  5. Transfer to a serving bowl and drizzle with olive oil. Sprinkle red pepper flakes on top for color and gentle heat. Let sit for 15 minutes before serving.

Notes

Make up to three days ahead as flavors improve overnight. Let ingredients reach room temperature for best texture. Store covered in refrigerator for up to 5 days. Bring to room temperature before serving. Freezing not recommended as texture becomes grainy. Greek yogurt can replace cream cheese for lighter version. Dried dill (1 teaspoon) works when fresh isn't available.
